So if people recall, when I hit Comic #100 a short time back, I mentioned using some peoples' online names here on ComicFury.
So see if your name is in the line-up.
I do have to admit, originally in my storyboard plan, I was going to try and show a montage of gamers playing through the tournament, but it became clear due to time and my lack of being able to do huge scenes with lots of people yet, that it would be better just to do a quick run through and show a rankings board type deal instead.
I'm definitely working on improving my art, but it's a slow process.
I see me ! thats really cool :D I think the ranking board is pretty cool .. I know i have a hard time working in cameos too - although I may have to return the favor now :D :D great page BTW !
Thanks.
The ranking board was such a pain to do actually even as I was basing it mostly on ones I recall from my memory of whenever newspaper sport pages did them from time to time for stuff like football.
Once I did complete it though, I figured given the 'username' angle I already established in the plot, I'd get readers of the comic involved.
Cool! There I am! I can't tell if I made it far in the tournament or not. In real life I wouldn't; I can barely walk in FPSs.
I think I'm an okay game player, but then if you go up against other people... I tried playing Smash Bros online recently and I was slaughtered pretty quick. >_O
Cool, I got to fight Charley!
And with absolutely no Halo experience. How bout that?
Well, if you've played one first person shooter, you kind of played them all. I think the only major difference is the vehicles and maybe the sticky grenades.
Oh, that Chase will pay. HE WILL PAY!
Honestly, I didn't expect to make a cameo appearance in this entire comic, let alone this arc! So, seeing this was a nice surprise. Thank you, gov'ner. Keep up the good work!
Looks like I lost first round. This is quite accurate as I'm not sure if I ever played Halo: I'm terrible at first person and third person shooters and never owned a Microsoft console (or bothered much with computer gaming). Yeah, I'm sheltered. XD
I also totally choke under the pressure at tournaments, so even if its something I'm not horrible at, I don't do so well. Probably owe Karda an apology as well; about a 50% chance I end up being courteous except for being annoying or whether I just end up being some form of jerk.
Any surprise a guy that prefers to go by "otaku" is lacking in social skills? ;)
I've never been a big fan of competition when it comes to video games. I'd rather just play the games by myself usually.
Plus, so many people out there live and breathe gaming, to them it's pretty much second nature. Hence my butt is easily kicked.
And apparently, I beat you in the tournament.
Good game, dude.
I lost to Tibbitz!? What?
Oh wait. Halo? Yeah, that makes sense.
Heh. I'd lose in any competition when it comes to video games. I like playing them, but knowing everyone that plays them in tournaments practically makes it their life. O_o
Yeah, there was a time that I might have been able to do that sort of thing. That time was before I got married and had kids and a mortgage :)
I just never liked competition and is probably why I never got, nor ever will, into online gaming or tournament gaming. I prefer just playing a game for my own entertainment by myself...and sometimes with family when the situation arrives at best.
Also, never been a huge fan of fighting games or FPS. RPGs and action/adventure games all the way.
